“Facebook In Education”

Description:  Facebook has quickly become the social network site of choice by many college students.  In addition to the incredible usage rate among students, there are a number of unique features that make it amenable to educational pursuits, including bulletin boards, instant messaging and the ability to post videos and pictures.  Social networks, such as Facebook, can provide numerous other pedagogical advantages through connecting with students and creating a learning community, which is a vital component of student education. In this session, attendees will learn how to establish a facebook account as an educational forum. Information and resources will be disseminated.  (Note:  a personal facebook account must be established).

WEBINAR:  “Nine Essential Traits of the Professor”

“Certification”

Description: Certification is a process by which the Wisconsin Technical College System Office evaluates the occupational, academic, and teaching experience of district employees to determine his/her preparedness to work in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS).  The primary purpose of this information session is to improve the understanding of MATC employees regarding the certification process and to identify their responsibility in the process.

Description: TLT and ER&D have collaborated to develop an internet presence at the college. This workshop will introduce the various ways that you are able to connect with these departments through edtechNews, Facebook, Twitter and Google +. You will also learn how to establish accounts in order to keep you connected with the latest technology and professional development offerings at the college.
